The Cisco Application Strategy Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module (APIC-EM) is a software-defined network (SDN) controller that coordinates and manages local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) consisting of Cisco's infrastructure. 

APIC-EM hosts a wide range of embedded services, including, but not limited to, network PNP, path tracking, PKI certificate infrastructure, and network assets. All of these applications can be viewed from a GUI or RESTful API.

Applications: Plug-and-play App (automatic deployment, Plug and Play), Cisco IWAN App (SDWAN), Path Trace App (Path Trace), EasyQoS App (Simple QoS, Dynamic QoS).

APIC-EM hardware requirements:

1. Server: 64-bit x86 Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

2, VCPU: 6 (2.4GHz) or more

3, RAM: 64GB (for single-host deployments) /32GB (for multi-host deployments)

Storage: 500GB HDD, Disk I/O Speed: 200Mbps, RAID 10

5, Network Adaptor: 1X

6, Hypervisor: VMware vSphere 5.1/5.5/6.0 (for Virtual Appliance)

Wireless: AiroNet 3800, AiroNet 2800, AiroNet 1800, 8540 WLC, 5520 WLC, Meraki MR
