It extends the software support of the 8000 Series to include SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud), an open-source network operating system widely adopted by hyperscalers. SONiC allows the 8100 Series to seamlessly integrate into hyperscaler data centers while maintaining compatibility with traditional data center deployments.
