Trusted Cable Testing
LinkIQ measures lengths up to 1000 ft (305 m) and provides the distance to fault locations such as open circuits, short circuits, and unterminated cables. The remote ID enables complete cable pair wiring diagrams, helping to identify miswires and split pairs. The primary cable testing feature of LinkIQ is cable performance testing, which determines compliance with bandwidth cabling from 10BASE to 10GBASE (10 Mb/s to 10 Gb/s). It performs these tests through frequency-based measurements. Using IEEE standard-based measurements ensures that the tested link meets performance requirements, whereas transmission testers only prove that specific test equipment can communicate over the link.
Operators can set performance requirements from 10 Mb/s to 10 Gb/s and simply get a pass/fail indication.
Modern Design and Interface
Like today’s smartphones, LinkIQ features a gesture-based touchscreen that covers almost the entire surface of the device. This allows for easy display of extensive information and provides clear and simple controls such as sliders and a full keyboard. Although LinkIQ can perform a variety of tests, the user interface is simplified with a single test function. The results displayed depend entirely on what is connected to the device’s single RJ-45 port. A single USB-C port connects to computers for future software updates, reporting, and charging. Like other Fluke Networks products, LinkIQ is designed and tested in our environmental lab to ensure durability, including vibration, temperature, humidity, electrostatic discharge, and drop tests.
